Hi guys! sorry for disappearing for the past two days. Basically nothing happen on Day 34 ( i.e. 23rd Sep ),.. just sending a parcel home, studying and having lesson as usual.. But more things happen on today! Before i begin, i would like to inform readers like you that in this entry, there are some arts that may appear pornographic and disturbing to you. I would advise you not to read this entry. There may also be some disturbing content displayed by the Art museum.

First of all, let me start of with the morning class i had! Finally i took up the courage to take a few pictures in the class ( because professors don't like their pictures taken ). So i secretly took out my camara and sneak a few shots!
If you enlarge this picture, u can see the words that appear on the projector.. Teaching in English and with a few korean words!
After class, i went to library and search for a book called "A primer of conservation biology by Richard Primack" English version~
Familiar books!
Went to the top of the library to take a breathe of the cooling air..
continue searching!
Developmental Biology in Korean language!! i'm amazed..
Finally, after the help of 2 kind librarian, i've found the book i wanted!! "A Primer Of Conservation Biology" by Richard Primack!!

Meanwhile, we manage to see a shooting taking place!!
This is the entrance of the Busan Museum Of Modern Art:
A guide map given! The 2008 Busan Biennale unfolds at the Busan Museum of Modern Art, Gwangalli Beach, and APEC Naru Park between September 6th to November 15th under the theme of "Expenditure." Made up of the Contemporary Art Exhibition, the Sea Art Festival, and the Busan Sculpture Project, the 2008 Busan Biennale will exhibit a distinctive philosophy of "expenditure" and a vivid scene of contemporary art through a variety of artworks including paintings, photographs, videos, installations, outdoor sculptures, etc.The theme of the 2008 Busan Biennale, "Expenditure," was borrowed from Georges Bataille's discussion. Since it means consumption, release, and exhaustion, and extends into extravagance and reckless expenditure, "expenditure" is a concept contrary to goal-oriented, power-oriented, and phallic economic concepts, such as production, moderation, accumulation, acquisition, regime, control, etc. Though it has political and economic implications, it also has a great deal of implications for the perspectives of aesthetics and cultural criticism. Bataille pointed out that all studies had pursued to understand a society or a culture through the lens of production and accumulation and this had been an attempt to look at the whole from a part of a society or a culture, leading to a half-baked interpretation. According to Bataille, a complete discussion could be produced when we look at a society or a culture through the lenses of spending, consumption, exhaustion, etc., or concepts that are the antipodes of production, accumulation, acquisition, control, etc., that is, concepts employed in existing discussion methods. He asserted that, after all, culture had been maintained through activities deemed meaningless, such as releasing and consuming what was produced and accumulated.
The 2008 Busan Biennale attempts to reinterpret the trends of contemporary art as the aesthetics of "expenditure" through a microscopic lens, as well as to interpret "expenditure" through a macroscopic lens from the perspectives of cultural theories. Differentiating itself from existing biennales, which focus on exhibiting latest art trends "with speed" and "in abundance," the 2008 Busan Biennale seeks to illuminate and predict the latest directions of contemporary art, from paintings to sculptures to videos, under the theme of "expenditure," employing thorough analyses and maintaining critical views.
First, the Contemporary Art Exhibition unfolds at the Busan Museum of Modern Art, Busan Yachting Center, and other places, under the direction of Kim Won-bang, a professor at Hongik University and art critic, exhibiting some 120 works of 100 artists from 20 countries. The Contemporary Art Exhibition, whose theme is "Expenditure, Art, Culture," presents the driver of today's cultural activities through the concept of expenditure, shifting directions from existing production-oriented and appearance-centered values to the disintegration of supernatural values and power of culture.
Let's take a look now!! From this point onward, there may be some arts that appear pronographic or disturbing to you.. please do not read it if you think u will be offended.. Basically i've taken 90% of all the artwork!! Enjoy!
The "only for 19 and above" section:
A movie free for all..
This is very interesting.. it's like switching between the light and the dark.. and this is the light:
And this is what u see when they alternate the current to dark:
Light again..
And dark.. eh. can u see what is it? :P
I can see lots of breast only.. eh.. which is focused by the artist.. lol...
Haha.. and we find this cute stuff!! When u jump hard on the ground, it will move slightly.. something like "shiver" on the spot.. cute! And you know what Cho Seong keep jumping..

This is a little.. hmm... u know what is this? The entire screen is just this image and some sound produced.. the sound comes from a teacher teaching in Jap.. that's all... i don't really catch this art.. This is the most interesting of all.. the entire room is just this.. the first impression from me is like "why is this room empty with only spot light sia".. then we've decided to take a closer look:Oh.. so the entire room has only three screwdrivers..
This is art.. Cho Seong thought these are fungi.. lol.. and i think so too...Car engine?
Some drawings on the wall:
Can u see the message?
Image projected onto the wall~
Finally i've found the only art i love the most..
And i kissed it.. haha!! I kinda like this pic.. :P
Some arts above the celling..And we're proceeding to the next destination for the 2nd part of the 2008 Busan Biennale! Guess what, we saw a helicopter circling above us! The crew is still shooting the police scene.. haha!
We took a taxi to the 2nd destination.
And behind this yellow board is a small movie room.. lots of these movie rooms around..
A bird escaped from one of the art display!!
On the way to the 3rd destination for the 2008 Busan Biennale!! Saw some beautiful flowers around.. :)
And finally the Korea's national flower "Mugunghwa" ( Rose of Sharon )
Botanical name: Hibiscus Syriacus L.
Flowering season: From early July to late October ( which is now!! )
According to records, Koreans have treasured the rose of Sharon as a heavenly flower since ancient times. In fact, the Silla Kingdom called itself Mugunghwa Country. Even the ancient Chinese referred to Korea as "The land of gentlemen where Mugunghwa blooms." Love for the flower was further heightened when Mugunghwa samcheolli hwaryeo gangsan" ("Rose of Sharon, thousand miles of beautiful mountain and river land!") was written into the national anthem of the late 19th century. As the rose of Sharon has been an important part of the Korean culture for centuries, it was only natural that the government adopted it as the national flower after Korea was liberated from Japanese colonial rule.
We continue our long long walk.. Finally we've reached the place!!
The Busan Sculpture Project, which is headed by a sculptor Yi Jeong-hyeong, is hosted in APEC Naru Park, inviting 20 works of 20 artists from 15 countries. The theme of the Busan Sculpture Project, "Avant Garden," combined "Avant" from avant-garde with "Garden," which indicates a more private space than a park. Thus, "Avant Garden" implies the intention of transforming everyday spaces into creative ones by combining epistemological and aesthetic notions with ordinary parks.
I kinda like this too.. lots of stripes that maketh up the room.. nice!
Did u see a nice white place with light bulbs only? Take a closer look at the white sheet!! The artist actually draw maps on the white area!!! ( i really have to observe why this thing is white before i realised it is actually a map and not just a mess ) lol...
Other display or maps using papers..And we've reached the divinity section~Opps.. i'm sorry christian pals.. i read the instruction and had my divinity told.. This is the sticks that has only white and black base:
Yup.. and i picked up the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th stick with a white base.. only stick 3 has a black base!Next, we'll compare with the image on the wall:And just beside the image, an explanation will be given.. fun!And guess what.. Cho Seong has 5 black ones.. haha!! With the 4th stick white.. lol..Looking at the rest of the images.. lots of permutation and combination!Btw.. i took this abstract facing the ground.. haha.. can u see the edge of the room? And i took this abstract at the celling.. can see the edge again?? :P
Seriously we really make full use of the 5000won for viewing the Busan Museum Of Modern Art Busan Biennale 2008 .. Reached back Hadan at around 8pm alone before i had dinner.. hungry! Saw some performance at the entrance of Dong-A university! Is she a famous singer??
Anyway today is really a tiring day, but a fulfilling one! Hope i'll take enough rest and not fall sick... :)
