Day 26 ( Seoul Trip Day 4 )

Today is 15th Sep 08 and it's the final day for our Seoul trip.. haha.. rather reluctant to go back to school the next day, but nevertheless, we must still keep a positive attitude and keep up with the tight schedule today!

I don't think anyone has the opportunity to take a picture of the empty Metro subway in Seoul? Haha.. While we're taking the train from Jongno 3(sam)-ga station, the people in the train suddenly left when we reach Cheongnyangni station!! We had completely no idea what was going on and this is the state of the train:
Of course we're shocked! And the train stops somewhere we don't know also.. what's more, we have a tight schedule to meet!! Then came a lady who is passing by and approached us.. So she's the train operator!! She's very helpful.. look! There she is, directing the way for us!
Oh.. so this is the train going in opposite direction and we're suppose to alight and change train just now.. lol.. taking a closer look at the lady: Anyway after much excitement and anticipation, we've finally reached Yangju, 24 stations from where we have been.. seriously u need to open your eyes big big in Seoul and follow what other people are doing to make sure u're on the safe side.. lol..
Guess what.. we are lost.. haha.. and we approached an auntie for direction.. a bus manage to stop by and the uncle is willing to help us! He insist us to board the bus!!~ ( we did not pay him a single cent.. lol )
Finally we've reached The Daejanggeum Theme Park with the helpful koreans around us!!

Here you can see young JangGeum and Yeon Saeng sneaking in to get their mother's plates, buy accidentally knocking over porridge Tarakjuk, the supper of the king. Actual kitchen utensils and Tarakjuk are displayed there for viewing.

Most of the competitions, such as court lady for the royal kitchen and top court lady for the royal kitchen were all filmed here as well. You can see interesting highlights from the scences filmed at court lady Han and JangGeum rooms, twe Sun Gan, the library and the medicine office buildings, as well as the beautiful royal costumes used for the drama..

Scences such as when Yeon Saeng, Changi Yi, and Young Ro burn their dress ribbons on purpose in order to find the answers to the questions for the court lady competition were filmed here. An iron fire pot, knives, water bowl and trays are on display here.
This is the Summerhouse! This location is used whenever a romantic setting was required for the series. Romantic scenes, such as when JangGeum puts pine nuts on pine needles, JangGeum buries her mother's heirloom under the house, Lady Han opening the Kam Sik Sho, and Lady Min teaching Yeon Saeng how to gather spiritual energy from the moon.

This is the backdoor / bridge / stream. JangGeum sneaks out to find the golden pheasant that she lost, and other scenes of the characters coming and going to the palace. The stream was used as the breeding ground for the royal sulphur duck. The bridge was the location where scenes of the medicine woman JangGeum and the King took night strolls. And we finally came out of DaeJangGeum Theme Park! Chanced upon this building, but not sure what is it..
On our way back!Beautiful scenery just in front of the palace! Finally we have to leave Yangju and go back to Jongno 3(sam)-ga to get our stuff back! We need to catch the KTX back to Busan at 7pm sharp!! Waited a long time for the subway train.. what's more? We have to stand all the way ( i.e. 24 stations ) because it's so crowded!!
Taking a group photo with the staff of the guesthouse! This is memorable.. haha.. especially with the playful dog!! I like the experience here.. :)
Li Shi taking a picture of the dog! Taking great effort in overcoming your fear? Well done!
Next we flag a taxi ( cost us around 3100 won, cheaper than our train ride!! ) to Seoul station and had our dinner at 6pm before boarding the KTX train.. KFC!! Haha.. had a traumatic experience with Hui Lin and her lost purse.. but luckily the purse is found and we're on our way back to Busan!!
All in all, this is a wonderful trip in Seoul. I enjoyed the company the most!! Although Seoul subway is rather complicated, the food here is more expensive than Busan and needed lots of waiting time for almost everything, this place is fun-filled with excitement and enjoyable!~ Majestic at times too.. i'm looking forward for the next trip back in Seoul!!
